Kids to get crafty over half-term

Feb 3, 2010

The half-term school holidays are on the horizon and there's plenty to keep the youngsters entertained at Rand Farm Park near Lincoln.

The award-winning family farm attraction will be going craft crazy from Monday 15th to Friday 19th February when young visitors will have the chance to try their hand at a range of fun activities.

They'll be making butterfly masks, Mother's Day and Easter cards, handprint flowers, model sheep and lambs and even bunny ears.

All the extra activities are included absolutely free in the value-for-money admission price, which is still £6.95 per person (senior citizens £5.25, under twos free).

Adding to the excitement  at this time of year are the new arrivals on the farm which always prove fascinating for young visitors. So far this spring Rand Farm has already welcomed 11 Jacob lambs, three Charolais calves and five pygmy goat kids.

Visitors can bottle-feed the new arrivals every day at 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm at no extra cost - and don't forget the hatchery where baby chicks are being born daily.

Rand Farm Park is open every day whatever the weather from 10am until 4pm and half-term activities begin at 11am.

All the usual attractions will also be open as usual, including the indoor family playbarn, the pedal go-kart circuit, the outdoor adventure playground, the tea room, the coffee 'baa' and the farm shop selling delicious local and gourmet produce.

"You can't rely on the weather at this time of year but rain or shine there will be lots of creative fun activities to do at Rand Farm Park this half-term week," said proprietor Kay Waring.

"There's something for everyone, especially at half-term, and children always love to feed the spring lambs."
