Lincoln Performing Arts Centre (LPAC)

The Lincoln Performing Arts Centre is a new state-of-the-art performance and conference venue which opened its doors at the University of Lincoln in April 2008.

The centre’s mission is present work of national and international quality in theatre, music, dance, film, talks and conferences, adding to the existing live arts offering in Lincoln. LPAC also does educational and outreach arts work with local communities.

The £6 million centre is also home to the Lincoln School of Performing Arts (LSPA) where around 240 students study for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in drama and dance. LSPA includes the new Centre for Innovation in Performing Arts.

The centrepiece of the new building is an impressive 450-seat theatre which will host professional touring theatre, music and dance productions, film screenings and productions by students from the Lincoln School of Performing Arts.

Shooting Star PR was engaged to help formulate a marketing and publicity campaign for the inaugural season of performing arts events at LPAC, beginning with the visit of the Laurence Olivier Award-winning play Blackbird by David Harrower in April 2008.

“Having worked in the university sector, and with extensive experience of live arts marketing and promotion, Shooting Star PR have all the knowhow we need to help put LPAC on the arts map,” said Professor Michael Earley, Executive Director of LPAC.

“They did a great job promoting Blackbird and we’re looking forward to working with them on our future projects.”
