BRIGHT NEW STAR AT SHOOTING STAR PR

Lincolnshire’s first PR consultancy Shooting Star PR has taken on a new team member to help manage its fast-growing client list.

Company directors Jez Ashberry and Kate Strawson have employed up-and-coming PR practitioner Liz Dolby as an Account Executive.

Liz (24) has two years' PR experience in the public sector and a first-class honours degree in journalism from the London College of Communications.

Since finishing university, Liz has worked at Derbyshire County Council as an Assistant Communications Officer and was part of Virgin Atlantic’s GlobalFlyer website team in Florida during Steve Fossett’s last aviation world record in 2006.

Liz said: “I am so pleased to have been given the opportunity to work with Shooting Star PR at such an exciting time and feel my skills will be well suited to the world of agency work.

“I have worked on a variety of projects for Derbyshire County Council, including the production of a magazine for young people and developing content for the council’s main public-facing websites.”

As a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Liz has completed the Advanced Certificate in Public Relations at Leeds Metropolitan University and is currently studying for a CIPR Diploma.

Kate Strawson, a Director at Shooting Star PR, commented: “We are really pleased to welcome Liz to Shooting Star PR and feel she will be an extremely valuable addition to the team.

“Her experience and skills particularly in writing for the web will enable us to expand the services we currently offer and help even more businesses to raise their profile and improve their reputation both locally and nationally.”

Clients on the Shooting Star PR roster include the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, construction company Rand Group, Lincolnshire Development and the Lincoln Performing Arts Centre.
