PRIORY CENTRE HIRES SHOOTING STAR

The Priory Centre at St Catherine’s in Lincoln has asked Shooting Star PR to handle its PR and publicity work.

The centre has just been earmarked for a £1.3 million Heritage Lottery Fund grant to create a new heritage education centre.

Shooting Star PR’s brief is to raise the profile of the centre and increase awareness of the history of the site and of the grade II listed St Catherine’s Church where it is based.

The Priory Centre stands on a historic site which can be traced back as far as the early 1100s. The original priory was run by the Gilbertines, the only English monastic order, whose founder St Gilbert came from Sempringham near Sleaford.

The Priory Centre also has strong links with Queen Eleanor and King Edward 1st of England.

Shooting Star PR was set up in Lincoln last year by former University of Lincoln press officers Jez Ashberry and Kate Strawson, who are both experienced journalists and PR practitioners.

The driving force behind the development of the Priory Centre and the renovation of the church buildings is Father Ian Gray.
