Priory Centre

The Priory Centre is a multi-use community access facility based at St Catherine’s Church in Lincoln on the site of a historic priory.

The Heritage Lottery Fund has earmarked £1.3 million to help create a heritage education centre on the historic site.

The history of the site can be traced back as far as the early 1100s. The original priory was run by the Gilbertines, the only English monastic order, whose founder St Gilbert came from Sempringham near Sleaford.

The Priory Centre also has strong links with Queen Eleanor and King Edward 1st of England.

Shooting Star PR has been engaged to raise the profile of the centre and increase awareness of the history of the site and of the grade II listed St Catherine’s Church where it is based.

Father Ian Gray, who has been the driving force behind the Priory project, commented:
